First up we have our first bath! The little piece of belly button cord fell off, so we were allowed to put her in the water. Up until now it's been "spongebaths" with wash cloths. Carly likes baths pretty well, but isn't to fond of having to get out of the warm water.
Still trying to decide if we like it....

ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!! It's cold out here!!!!

Ok... all done and it's naptime now.

Friday June 27, the Schahl side of the family made it up for a visit. Unfortunately Jennifer had other commitments and was unable to join them. Everyone was excited for a turn to hold little Carly. Below we have Uncle Steven, Aunt Laura, Grampa Schahl and Grammy J. This is the first grandchild on my side of the family, so this is all new and exciting for everyone. It was great to have them come up for a visit. I know it's very far and long to drive, but it's always nice to see the family!

Of course Columbo is still wondering if these are the people who will finally take that baby away so we can get back to normal around here!

We finally decided that perhaps a swing was the way to go. Carly has had a bit of colic and sometimes swinging her around in the carseat or even just in our arms helps. I ran by the store and brought home a swing... found this fancy convertible one that turns into a rocking chair when she no longer needs it as a swing. Pretty neat... everything seems to be "convertible" these days. She seems to enjoy it. It doesn't do much to calm her, she needs to be calm to be put in it, but when we do get her in there, she can make it a good 15 - 30 minutes. That's a pleasant amount of time to let Kim enjoy some breakfast in the mornings! The last few days she's even managed to fall asleep in there. It appears to be passing the test.

We've also started to try to get a little "floor time" in now and then. We've received some very nice blankets that work very well for this. Carly tolerates it for about 5 minutes or so, and then we're done for a while.

Kim has been taking advantage of the nice weather we've had up here lately, and tries to get a walk in most days. It's a bit challenging with Carly and Columbo both. Carly's usually fussy on the walks.... well, fussy or sleeping!

Mommy and I have nearly matching pj's!

The other night it was nice out when I got home from work, so we took the opportunity to get a little patio time in while it wasn't too warm. Carly enjoyed an outdoor nap.

This picture is in here just because it's priceless! Crazy hair, dropped jaw... you'd think she just had the surprise of a lifetime!

July 4th we decided to have coffee out on the patio. We received a fun red, white and blue outfit from Marmo a couple weeks ago, and thought it would be perfect for today!

Kim has discovered that trimming Carly's nails is easiest when she's sleeping!

Whew! 4th of July is exhausting!

Our friends Marie and Brian came over for dinner the other night. They've just recently announced that they are expecting! Here's Marie, practicing!

I'm getting cute and I know it! I'm starting to figure out this smiling thing. Should have it down in a week or two.

And now we're up to today. We made our first trip to church today. We chose a fun little Winne the Pooh sundress, and the day went pretty well. She was pretty good in church, Kim only took her out once. She was a little startled by the organ, but was sleeping through it by the end.

After church, we again had coffee on the patio, and then after topping off the tank, it was time for a nap in the swing.

Well, like I said that brings us up to date. We're getting ready for a trip home to show off to all the relatives. We're looking forward to the visit. Carly does pretty well in the car, so hopefully the trip won't seem so long. We'll see you all soon!

That outfit sure did fit her well and she is pretty cute in it also. although she is pretty cute in "nothing" too. Cute winnie the pooh dress, better put those things on her before she grows out of them.
Thanks for sharing all of the pictures I love them. Jessica and family are leaving on a big road trip tomorrow. Only 17 hours and they are doing it non-stop. should be interesting for sure. Lots of fun things waiting for all of us in Texas. should be a fun weekend.
love you all marmo
Thanks for all the great pictures! I love all of her hair and her facial expressions- she is adorable. Seems to look like Jason :) I hope all is well and you have a good trip home.
I have been thinking of you all as always. You all look great!!! Carly sure is a looker. I think she's crying now so the teenage years will be a breeze for you. :) How are things? Getting adjusted? Miss you both and love you (and Carly, too!).
