Okay... I'm sorry it's been so long.....

Okay... I'm sorry it's been so long. Here is the much anticipated recap of our tour of Illinois a few weeks back. We had such a good time and as hard as it was to head back north before, it's more-so now! Carly was a pretty good traveler overall. There were a few moments of un-consolable crying that were, well, challenging. Otherwise it went well. We made decent time, only having to stop to feed her twice each way. That did of course turn our five and a half hour drive into closer to eight... but not unbearable by any means. And as she is always getting older and bigger, we can always look forward to that being less the next time we head down!

Now... the part everyone wants to see anyway... the pictures!

Here's a snapshot that Kim took in our little forward facing rear-view mirror. Columbo was sort of pouting that he now only gets to have one third of the seat. (He used to have the whole thing to himself!) He did ok though, and took a nap here with Carly!

While we were home, we got to see lots of people. The Canada family and Schahl family all met at (Great) Grandma Schahl's house for a little get together to meet the new little girl. It was a treat to see all who could make it, and those who couldn't were missed.

Here's a couple pictures from that weekend.

Just our new little family.

One with Grandpa Schahl and Grammy J.

Of course we had to get a four generations picture :)

Aunt Jennifer was able to make it home for a day to see her new one and only niece!

(Great) Grandma Ruth was able to make it out.

We even had a little "tummy-time." We've been trying this at home also... Carly is typically not a fan. She had a good day here though.

And here's a few shots from the Dixon leg of the trip.... We went out to coffee a couple mornings, and cousin Ellie was always willing to help keep an eye on Carly. I think Ellie liked her a lot, and she did very well holding and entertaining her. Perhaps a future summer babysitting trip to Minnesota? Hrmmmm.........

Here's a couple with Baka.... (Grandpa Kitson)

Even a smile! (ok, sort of... but there really was one... the camera just wasn't quick enough!)

We also took a trip down to visit our friends the Bowsers, to see their new little girl and their new house in Wyoming! It was great to visit with them, and we look forward to another trip when they can come back to Minnesota!

Some of Kim's college friends coincidentally have all recently had babies as well. They got together for a brunch/baby play date. Kim enjoyed getting to see all her friends and their new bundles of fun!

Okay... well, that's about enough for tonight. I'll try to get another post up in a couple days to catch up on the month that's gone by since this trip! The time really flies. Everyone take care!
