Summer Fun!

We made a trip to IL for Father's day weekend so Kim could do the Warrior Dash with Megan and Brian and some of their friends.  Here we are nice and clean pre-race

And a little muddy post race.  I'm sure someone told Brian to put on his best warrior face.

It was a VERY hot day so after the race we went back to Megan's house for some pool time (after a very necessary shower).  Molly decided she was done swimming so changed into clothes but ....

 

 the pool pulled her in. 

 

The best part about staying at Aunt Megan's house is sleepovers with Cassidy.

On Father's day everyone came to Megan's house to have brunch.  Here the girls are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Gram and Bakka.

 

 After brunch we took Daddy to a baseball game.

 

 Daddy had a great time and was happy to be the official holder of sunglasses.

Cheese (maybe with a lisp).

 

Sometimes the game got a little slow, good thing we brought this Barbie!

Back at home the girls help Daddy open his Father's day present.

A few weeks ago we took down the toddler beds and painted the girls room (Pixie purple).  A couple of new beds and the girls are set.

 

Molly was THRILLED to be in a big girl bed.

 

 Seems to sleep ok.

Kim and the girls were lucky enough to attend an impromptu Brechon family reunion.  Carly LOVED holding baby Tyler.  Tyler is Kim's cousin's grandson.

This is Carly's second cousin.  He was born 2 days after Carly....somewhere I have a picture of the two of them together at just a few weeks of age. 

 

Those big girl beds are so roomy sometimes you need to share.

Sunday paper with Daddy on the deck.

On the 4th of July we headed over to a little town Festival.  It was about 1000 degrees outside but we had fun.

We planted a garden this year and the kids have been so excited about it.  The other night we walked out to check on things and found this cucumber.  Carly asked where the carrots were, so I pulled these babies to show her.  They were so excited.  Carly even asked if she could eat her carrot.  For those of you who don't really know Carly, the fact that she was asking to eat something other than a peanut butter and honey sandwich is a bit of a miracle. 

This weekend the girls helped us dig some holes for some new trees.  Wish I had pictures of that, Carly was really having a good time.  After all that hard work they needed to cool off in the pool.  Carly wanted to try out this new swimsuit.  She was really excited about showing off her belly button.  There was quite the little fashion show.  Molly is such a supportive sister in the background :)
