Standing, cruising and the great outdoors.

Well, it's been a busy couple weeks around here. We've had visitors and the weather is getting nicer. Carly is growing so fast. She had a doctors appointment for a checkup. The report was healthy. She has gotten the hang of pulling herself up to a standing position and is starting to "cruise." She's getting very good at both. We've got a few pictures to catch up on so let's get started....

Gram and Bakka decided to take advantage of Gram's long weekend from school and came north. Carly took a little while to warm up to them again, but soon did and everyone had a good time. I think it was hard for them to go home, they were very happy to get to spend some time with her.. . (and us, I suppose.)

We've really been working on the whole crawling all over thing. Over for toys here, crawl through the exersaucer, over to recliner, check out the dog, back to the toys...etc...etc...

We also really enjoy story time. Carly likes to help turn the pages, sometimes backwards which of course makes it longer to finish the story.

Sometimes Carly likes to help with the laundry.

Or... just play with the laundry basket.

So quickly she can move from room to room now.

Carly's baby swing was a convertible type. The seat portion detaches from the swing and is a little baby rocking chair. Since Carly had no interest in the swinging portion anyway we went ahead and took the rocker out. Carly thought this was great!

Oh, did we mention that she prefers bottles now? She's little miss independent and prefers to get her milk from a bottle... and she has to hold it.

For some reason, there are still just two little teeth. Two front bottom. This has not stopped her from becoming very fond of Cheerios though. In other news, Columbo's cholesterol is down 20 points.

With the onset of warmer weather, we've gotten our first forward facing stroller. It was in the 50s on Sunday so we had to break it in and show Carly the neighborhood. She had such a good time. She and Kim (and sometimes Jason) went on lots of walks last summer while Kim was on maternity leave. However, Carly seemed much more impressed with the scenery than the sky if you know what I mean. (For you slow ones, that means she sits up and faces forward now instead of laying backwards like she did in the last one!)

After the walk and a brief bite to eat, we decided to see what she thought of the patio. Protected from the wind, it was nice and toasty back there in the sun. Carly seemed to really enjoy crawling around on the patio. So many new sights, sounds and textures.

After a long hard day, Carly likes to cuddle with Jason.

Ok, that's all we've got for now. We could put up a video or two but they seem to take forever to load and it's late tonight. Perhaps in a couple days. Take care.

Thanks, I'm sure you didn't post because you were giving in to terrorists, but the terrorists are thankful. And we now will post new pics to ours after our appt. Love the pictures, she is getting so big. Only 9 more sleeps until we visit, I hope we have nice weather! See you all soon, and super funny comment about Columbo's cholesterol I was worried about it ;)

Yeah!! I love the pictures!! Jason you crack me up!!

It takes LUcas a bit to warm up to grandparents as well. We got him a book at Babies R us that you can put pictures in. We have one with pictures of both grandparents and he got pretty good at pointing them out-it was pretty helpful!
I bet you guys are like us wondering where the time went-she is a little person!
