Once they got here, we mostly hung out at the house on Saturday. Gram and Bakka baby-sat Carly Saturday night so we could have a date night. Unfortunately, it had been a while since Kim had worn heels, and as we left the house, well... it didn't go well. We did go to a movie and dinner, and then ended our evening in the ER with plenty of X-Rays and a spiffy leg brace and sporty shoe for Kim. Not to be contained, on Sunday, we took advantage of the beautiful day and took the grandparents to Wabasha, Minnesota, and had lunch at the famous Slippery's Tavern. It was a gorgeous day, and the leaf season was at it's peak which made for a great drive. In Wabasha, they had a display of local behemoth pumpkins. Carly needed a closeup look.

Gram and Bakka wanted to make sure they got their picture taken with Putz and Moron. We're not quite sure why we didn't make sure they got their pictures taken with Carly???
Just outside Wabasha in Kellogg, MN there is a great toy museum/store/factory. Lark Toys. They have a completely hand carved, hand painted, functional carousel, and Carly got her first ride on it.
On the way up to see us, Gram picked up a little pumpkin for my pumpkin, so here's the obligatory photo!
She also brought along this green outfit that apparently was worn by Kim just a few years ago. Gram wanted to see what Carly looked like in it.
And then fast forward to today, we gave our first try at cereal. It wasn't what I would call well received, but wasn't the disaster that it could have been either. Carly did enjoy a few spoonfuls and was even opening her mouth for it at one point, but it was short lived, and she preferred to go back to her primary method.

Oh Kim how awful! I don't know if I am more impressed that you actually got a date night or that you wore heels?? How crappy! Keep us posted on the injury. Thinking of you.
Yeah no Carly pics just when I needed them most! She is soooo happy....now if only Brian could get in with the "mob" we could have gas money to come visit you all!
So what exactly did you do to your leg? Hopefully it isn't anything too serious. I was thinking a sprained ankle or something from what you wrote, but the picture says otherwise.
