We're still here

Okay, so we completely missed January for posting an update, but bear with us, it's been a rather busy month! Actually January wound up being one scary moment after another... and not just because of us. Kim's sister wound up in the hospital in the ICU for some rather serious reasons. To keep this simple I won't go into them here, and those that need to know are already "in the know"... but anyway... so Kim went back and forth to Illinois twice and spent nearly two weeks of January there. All is getting better now, and her sister is back at home. Everyone is very relieved. Jason stayed home in Minnesota to work and go to school. Yes, that's right, school. Not sure why, but for some reason he's picked the busiest time of his work year to try his hand at none other than Applied Calculus. Tears were nearly shed one night when zero divided by zero was supposed to equal three. Overall... he thinks he's getting it, but the first test was this past Friday, and well... we'll see. And all this while working six days per week right now. Ugh!

Some of you may have heard, that we then had a scare with Kim and the baby. It ended up ok, so don't freak out. It's been horrible weather here... lots of snow and ice. This past Tuesday this was no exception. We had gotten 3 inches of really wet snow on Monday afternoon, and the temps were being "nice" and staying right around 25-30 degrees. As most of you know that's the makings for some slippery walking. Well, we carpooled to work (as we do every day since we work two blocks from each other) and Kim got out of the car to go into her building. She slipped and fell by the stairs. Forward. Oh crap. Now what? Well, a call to the doctor said, "you should definitely come in to get checked out because of the fall, and since you're 24 weeks, you have to go to Labor and Delivery." So, Jason immediately left work to go meet Kim, we went to L&D, and Kim spent 4 hours on a fetal monitor to make sure that the baby was ok, and that there weren't any contractions. We ended up ok.

So now, we're just getting ready to start working on the nursery. Picking out bed linens in the next couple days, and then paint accordingly. For those who've been to our house, we're swapping bedrooms and making what currently is our bedroom the nursery, and we're taking the spare bedroom as ours. Guests are still more than welcome, we have nice big futon in the office, and of course there's always the air mattress. Well, should rap this up, lunch is ready. Hope all are well, and we'll talk or see you soon!
